An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Development Manager working within the Consumer Division of Dicker Data.

The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to visit stores in the top half of the North Island and ensure stores have products merchandised effectively complying with Vendor requirements and planogram. You will train the Retailers on new products within our current set of brands that include Apple, DJI, Ring, and Swann and also any new brands that are brought on board.

The Head of Consumer sales will also assist you in day-to-day account management functions within some established accounts. You will liaise with Consumer Account Managers, the Dicker Data accounts team, warehouse teams, and retailers to ensure all processes are completed in an efficient and timely manner.

General Responsibilities

  • Regular store visits within sales territory with defined call plan and outcomes.
  • Ensure all customer service expectations are exceeded when providing first-line sales support
    to all customers including SOH, ETA, Pricing, and other related queries.
  • Successfully train store reps to ensure that key vendor requirements are covered.
  • Complete regular joint store visits with Vendor Reps and maintains Vendor planograms in-store.
  • Ensure you attend Vendor training sessions as required and are updated on new products to
    discuss these in stores.
  • Develop existing Tier 2 retailers in the applicable Region and recruit new retail partners.
  • In-store presence audited to ensure Consumer products are situated front and centre in store
    and using vendor-supplied stands where applicable.
  • Promote and manage sales campaigns in all retail partners.
  • Product lifecycle management - ensure excess or obsolete stock, write-offs, obsolescence
    claims, or rotations are kept to a minimum.
  • Ensure all RA requests are processed smoothly and resolve any escalations in a timely manner
    with the retailer.
  • Actively engage with all customers on using the Online portal, automated daily reports and
    EDI options where appropriate.
  • Attend fortnightly Sales meetings to ensure focus is executed.
