An exciting opportunity exists for a Consumer Product Manager working within the Consumer Division of Dicker Data.

The primary role of the Consumer Product Manager is responsible for the overall product strategy, road map, marketing, forecasting, and stock management for assigned brands.

What you will do in this role:

General Responsibilities

  • Work with vendors to develop, communicate and implement long-term strategies for assigned
  • Manage product roadmaps, lifecycle, product ranges, margins, pricing, and conduct competitive
    market analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing and rebates with vendors to maximise profitability.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies and manage product launches.
  • Prepare sales forecasting, promotional activity, and stock ordering proposals to ensure the achievement of
    internal budgets and vendor rebate incentives.
  • Devise, manage and successfully implement marketing budgets and strategies, work with vendors
    where applicable to gain marketing funds to support.
  • Review performance against targets and devise strategies to ensure targets are met.
  • Oversee all excess and aged inventory management.
  • Ensure all vendor marketing funding, rebates, and RA claims are processed regularly and received in
    a timely manner.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and conduct business reviews for continuous growth and
  • Work with the sales team on key accounts to conduct brand range reviews, and attend roadshows and
    tradeshows to assist in the development of assigned brands.
  • Conduct product training presentations internally and externally.
  • Oversee maintenance of products in ERP system and website to ensure all information and assets are
    readily available for the sales team to successfully sell assigned brands and utilise as GTM tools.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure the smooth running of each brand in
    the assigned portfolio.

To be successful, you will have/be:

  • 3-to 4 years of experience in a Product Management role or similar is desirable
  • Demonstrated achievements in the budget, margin, and inventory management to maximise profitability
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Keynote/PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Availability to occasionally work outside of designated hours to meet time-critical deadlines
  • Open and creative mind, ability to think "outside of the box"
  • Ability to find ways to achieve results despite challenges, obstacles, or changes in direction
  • Motivation and hunger to constantly learn and develop yourself and your skill sets
  • Team player attitude, with the ability to work well with people at all levels across the organisation
