An exciting opportunity exists to join the Commercial Division of Dicker Data as our Dell Product Manager.

The primary role of the Dell Product Manager is responsible for the overall product strategy, road map, marketing, forecasting, and stock management. You will be the Dell brand evangelist both with our customers and internally within Dicker Data.

What you will do in this role:

  • Understand vendor products and processes, bidding, vendor tools
  • Develop and retain strong working relationships with the vendor
  • Understand pricing programs and reflecting onto channel pricelists for customers
  • Assist in the development and execute marketing plans/claims and initiatives to drive demand generation
  • Manage pricing breaks/product catalogues and publishing pricelist to customers and internal sales staff
  • Manage and execute internal sales training and enablement
  • Acquire, develop and maintain customer accounts
  • Manage vendor claims and ensure timely payments
  • Manage margin and vendor rebate attainment for portfolio
  • Create sku and product bundles.
  • Maintain Dicker Data website product descriptions, compatible options, and Dell Microsite content
  • Forecasting sales/pipeline to the business and formulate gap plans
  • Ordering and forecasting stock, managing weeks of inventory and aged/obsolescence
  • Proactively work with key customers to generate repeat business

To be successful, you will have/be:

  • 3 years of experience in a Product Management role within the IT industry or similar is desirable,
  • Demonstrated achievements in the budget, margin, and inventory management to maximise profitability
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Keynote/PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Open and creative mind, ability to think "outside of the box"
  • Ability to find ways to achieve results despite challenges, obstacles, or changes in direction
  • Motivation and hunger to constantly learn and develop yourself and your skill sets
  • Team player attitude, with the ability to work well with people at all levels across the organisation
  • Distribution experience preferred
