An exciting opportunity exists for a Technical Business Development Manager to join the Solar Division of Dicker Data.

The primary role of the Technical Business Development Manager is responsible to work with the Business Unit Manager to manage select accounts, work with vendors, train customers, and provide design and technical support to ensure the budget is achieved.

What you will do in this role:

  • Manage the sales cycle, proactively seeking and developing new business opportunities in existing and potential accounts, and working with vendors on opportunities to respond to RFP's
  • Assist the Product Manager and Business Unit Manager on stock forecasting
  • Provide customer service and technical sales support and training both externally and internally.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and commissioning and communicate with partners, and vendors on problems
  • Organise regular meetings with service line engineers to review performance and provide
  • Summarise and provide feedback to Business Unit Manager for products and solution

To be successful, you will have/be:

  • 4 years+ of experience in the electrical, electronic, or solar energy industry is required.
  • An engineering degree (or equivalent) along with AS3000, 5033, 4777, and any related national standards are preferred
  • Prior experience in the solar energy industry is strongly preferred.
  • Has strong technical knowledge/solution selling
  • Prior experience in technical service and support is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electrical & Electronic, Solar inverter applications (Maintaining an active electrician license will be an advantage)
  • An ability to work under pressure and effectively and prioritise work
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including fluent English
  • Detailed knowledge of the Solar market along with distribution/channel experience
  • High level of initiative and enthusiasm
